Comprehensive Testing Of Solar Cable Performance
1. High-Temperature Withstand Voltage Test (EN50618-H1Z2Z2-K, IEC62930)
Temperature and Duration: (140±3)℃ for 240min.
Objective: Evaluate the depth of indentation, ensuring it does not exceed 50% of the total thickness of insulation and sheath.
Procedure: Conduct AC6.5kV, 5min withstand voltage test.
Outcome: No breakdown should be observed.
2. Damp Heat Test
Environment: 90 °C temperature and 85% relative humidity.
Duration: 1000 h.
Objective: Assess the change rate of tensile strength and elongation at break.
Outcome: The change rate should be less than or equal to -30% compared with before the test.
3. Acid and Alkali Resistance Test (EN50618-H1Z2Z2-K, IEC62930)
Samples: Immersed in oxalic acid and sodium hydroxide solutions.
Objective: Evaluate the tensile strength change rate and elongation at break.
Outcome: The change rate should be within ±30%, and elongation at break should be greater than or equal to 100%.
4. Compatibility Test
Aging Condition: (135±2)℃ for 7×24h.
Objective: Evaluate the change rate of tensile strength and elongation at break before and after insulation aging.
Outcome: The change rate should be within ±30%.
5. Low-Temperature Impact Test (EN50618-H1Z2Z2-K, IEC62930)
Cooling Temperature and Duration: -40℃ for 16h.
Objective: Assess the visibility of cracks on the surface after the impact.
Outcome: No visible cracks should be observed.
6. Low-Temperature Bending Test (EN50618-H1Z2Z2-K, IEC62930)
Cooling Temperature and Duration: (-40±2)℃ for 16h.
Objective: Evaluate the visibility of crack surfaces on the sheath after the test.
Outcome: No visible crack surface should be observed.
7. Ozone Resistance Test
Sample Length and Duration: 20 cm for 72 hours.
Objective: Assess the visibility of cracks on the jacket surface after the test.
Outcome: No visible cracks should be observed.
8. Weather Resistance/UV Test
Cycle and Duration: Each cycle consists of water spray for 18min and xenon lamp drying for 102min, for 720 hours.
Objective: Evaluate the visibility of cracks on the jacket surface after the test.
Outcome: No visible cracks should be observed.
9. Dynamic Penetration Testing
Cutting Speed and Tests: 1N/s for four times.
Objective: Record the penetration force F at the moment when the spring steel needle contacts the copper wire.
Outcome: The average value should be ≥150·Dn1/2N (4mm2 section Dn=2.5mm).
10. Anti-Dent Test
Sample Sections and Duration: Three sections for 3 hours.
Objective: Evaluate the breakdown in AC0.3kV water immersion voltage test.
Outcome: No breakdown should be observed.
11. Sheath Heat Shrinkage Test (EN50618-H1Z2Z2-K, IEC62930)
Sample Cutting Length and Duration: L1=300mm for 1 hour.
Objective: Assess the thermal shrinkage of the sample.
Outcome: The thermal shrinkage should be less than or equal to 2%.
12. Vertical Burning Test
Placement and Duration: (60±2)℃ for 4 hours.
Objective: Conduct the vertical burning test specified in GB/T18380.12-2008.
Outcome: The test should be successfully carried out.
13. Halogen Content Test
Sample Placement and Duration: 16h, temperature (21 ~ 25)℃, humidity (45 ~ 55)%.
Objective: Evaluate the pH and conductivity of the gas generated by the test sample.
Outcome: PH≥4.3; conductivity≤10μS/mm.
